 SOFILWM came into existence in Jan. 2009 as a professional agency created to take forward the successful north Gujarat groundwater management initiative, with a generous support from SRTT. The organization was registered under both Societies Act and Public Trusts Act in Gujarat in October 2008. The overall governance is being provided by a Governing Board, headed by the Chairman. The Board has a total of 12 members, including the Chair and the Member Secretary. The organization has its main office located in Palanpur, Banaskantha, Gujarat.
The Director is being supported by a team of professionals in the field of irrigation/water resources engineering; horticulture; agronomy; soil ecology; and communications as Programme Officers.
